Tajik musicians receive cash prizes for glorifying President

Prizes will be awarded in the framework of the Republican Contest “Tajikistan – My Dear Homeland”.

The Republican Contest “Tajikistan – My Dear Homeland” has begun in Tajikistan. The aim of the creative competition is to select the best song and melody that glorifies the achievements of independence and the contribution of President Emomali Rahmon to the national development, the press office of the Dushanbe Mayor’s Office reported on August 9.

According to the Dushanbe Mayor’s Office, the city round of the contest has finished in the capital of Tajikistan. The event took place in the hall of Mirzo Tursunzade Tajik State Institute of Culture and Arts.

The competition mainly focuses on finding talented artists, improving their professional skills, as well as creating new pieces of music, Deputy Mayor Muini Muinzoda says.

This year, the contest is held to mark the 30th anniversary of independence of Tajikistan. Composers, musicians, singers, folk music artists, creative groups and amateur artists are participating in the competition.

The results of the creative competition will be announced on November 16 this year. The winners of the city round will receive cash prizes, diplomas and appreciation letters and qualify for the final.
