Tajikistan highly evaluates Central Asia commodity expo in Turkmenistan

The large state-owned enterprises of the Republic of Tajikistan took part in the event.

On August 6, the delegation of the large state-owned enterprises of the Republic of Tajikistan took part in the Central Asia commodity expo at the Turkmenbashi International Seaport in Turkmenistan. Deputy Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan Umed Solekhzoda, who presented the exhibition stand of Tajikistan, highly evaluated the event in his interview with CentralAsia.news.

“The exhibition is organised at a very high level and very competently. We had the full support of the Turkmen side during our 4-5-day stay in Turkmenistan,” Solekhzoda said.

According to him, all emerging problems were resolved very quickly and efficiently, which helped the Tajikistan delegation organise the exhibition stand of the Republic. The Deputy Minister expressed special thanks to the event organisers – the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.

The Deputy Minister also shared his impressions of the Avaza tourism zone.

“This is not my first visit to Turkmenistan. In 2019, I visited Ashgabat to participate in a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission. This is my first visit to the resort of Turkmenistan. The infrastructure facilities of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport are impressive,” Solekhzoda said.

The high-ranking official emphasised that it was very convenient for the delegation of the Tajik enterprises to use the services of the sea harbour. According to him, all port facilities, in particular the warehouses were within walking distance. The quality operational work of the technical staff deserved special attention, the Deputy Minister added.

The exhibition covered an area of more than 2,000 square metres.  It featured 49 exhibition stands. The exhibition stands of Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan encircled a mulberry tree that, on the one hand, symbolizes diligence, and on the other hand, is associated with the Great Silk Road. The exhibition aimed to display the achievements of the Central Asian states in technological innovation.

The Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, the Central Asia Economic Forum, a meeting of the Central Asia Dialogue of Women Leaders, a national food exhibition and a festive concert took place in the Avaza tourism zone on the same day.
