The Tajik leader discussed with the Turkmenbashi seaport administration the possibility of establishing cooperation in freight transport with Dushanbe.
On August 5, together with his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon visited Turkmenbashi city. During the flight, the leaders of the two states discussed further aspects of cooperation in an atmosphere of mutual respect and understanding, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reports.
Rahmon and Berdimuhamedov visited the Turkmenbashi seaport. The port administration informed the President of Tajikistan about its activities and trade cooperation with other states.
The leader of Tajikistan discussed the possibility of establishing partnerships in freight transport with his country, using the Turkmenbashi seaport to enter the markets of other countries and import and export a wide range of Tajik products.
“Establishing contacts through the Turkmenbashi international seaport will be a major factor in enhancing and expanding relations between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan in transport cooperation and be mutually beneficial,” the report says.
In this regard, Rahmon instructed that the ministries and departments of Tajikistan develop their proposals for the efficient use of the Turkmenbashi international seaport.
