Over 40 events mark independence anniversary in Kyrgyzstan

Prime Minister Ulukbek Maripov said they would be held in compliance with sanitation requirements.

On August 4, Prime Minister Ulukbek Maripov chaired a meeting of the organising committee of the 30th anniversary of independence in Bishkek. Over 40 anniversary events will be held throughout the country, the press office of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

Representatives of the government agencies reported that the preparatory work for the event of national importance was underway in accordance with schedule. They said the anniversary celebrations in Bishkek included a military parade. A parade of workers will take place in the capital of Kyrgyzstan as well.

The Independence Day celebrations in the regions include theatrical performances, concerts and competitions of poets-improvisers (akyns). Citizens will have an opportunity to visit photo exhibitions, design and craft festivals and shows of performers of epics and other folklore works, in particular the Manas Epic.

Maripov emphasised that all events must be held in compliance with sanitation requirements and appropriate actions should be taken to ensure public safety and public order.

He also emphasised that construction work on housing, social and military facilities in Batken Region must be completed by August 31 (Independence Day). The Prime Minister noted that the Government should allocate the funds for the anniversary celebrations on time and without delays.
