Zhumanazarova holds a bronze medal, and Makhmudov holds a silver medal.
On August 3, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov congratulated the national team members, Greco-Roman style wrestler Akzhol Makhmudov on an Olympic silver medal and freestyle wrestler Meerim Zhumanazarova on an Olympic bronze medal during a telephone conversation, the press office the President of Kyrgyzstan reported.
Japarov noted that such achievements were not frequent in the history of national sports; therefore, they were of special significance and value for all citizens of Kyrgyzstan.
The President also wished further success to the Kyrgyzstan Olympic team.
Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic informed about the amounts of prize money that the Kyrgyz athletes would receive for their prize places.
A wrestler Akzhol Makhmudov will receive 7 million soms for a silver medal, and Meerim Zhumanazarova – 5 million soms for a bronze medal of the Tokyo Olympic Games. The incentive prize of 10 million soms will be awarded for an Olympic gold medal.
