Rahmon and Berdimuhamedov discuss bilateral issues

The leader of Tajikistan will take part in a Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia during his visit to Turkmenistan.

On August 3, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon arrived in Turkmenistan for a state visit. The high-ranking officials cordially greeted Rahmon at the Ashgabat airport, decorated with the flags of the two countries, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reports.

The leader of Tajikistan is expected to hold talks with his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The leaders of the two states will discuss a wide range of political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian issues and exchange views on issues of international and regional politics of mutual interest.

The talks were expected to conclude in signing a number of new cooperation documents.

On the last day of his state visit, Rahmon will take part in an informal summit of the heads of state of Central Asia in the Avaza tourism zone on August 6.

The leader of Tajikistan last visited Turkmenistan in August 2018 to participate in a meeting of the Council of the Heads of State – the founders of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFAS).
