President of Tajikistan appoints new Ambassador to Russia

Ex-Deputy Prime Minister Davlatshoh Gulmakhmadzoda was appointed in place of Imomuddin Sattorov.

On August 2, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon signed the decrees on the dismissal of Ambassador of Tajikistan to the Russian Federation Imomuddin Sattorov and the appointment of Ex-Deputy Prime Minister Davlatshoh Gulmakhmadzoda to this post, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported.

Currently, Sattorov combines the posts of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Tajikistan to Armenia and Representative of the Central Asian state at the Commission on Economic Issues at the CIS Economic Council. The reason for the dismissal is the transfer to another job.

Sattorov was born in 1964. He speaks German, English, Persian and Russian. He held the post of Ambassador of Tajikistan to Moscow since May 15, 2014.

In 2013, Gulmakhmadzoda was appointed acting head of the Khatlon Region administration. He held the post of Deputy Prime Minister since February 2020.

On August 2, Rahmon signed the decrees on the dismissal of the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Moldova and the appointment of 1st Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Khusrav Noziri Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization.
