Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov tested the plane within a working visit to the Balkan province.
On August 1, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, as part of a working visit to the Balkan province, tested a new combat aircraft with turbojet engines, which will be used by the Armed Forces. During the flight, he performed several maneuvers, as reported by «Turkmenistan Today».
Before testing the aircraft, Berdimuhamedov took a look at the drawings with the technical characteristics of various military equipment. Then he put on a special suit and took the pilot’s seat. In a matter of seconds, the leader of the country reached the required height and made a series of maneuvers.
After landing, Defense Minister Begench Gundogdyyev asked the head of the state for permission to send Berdimuhamedov’s outfit to the Ashgabat museum of the military school named after Berdimuhamedov Annayev, which is currently being built. The President said that the exhibited flight uniform will play an important role in the patriotic education of the young generation of Turkmenistan.
The above aircraft can fly at a distance of up to 2 000 km, as well as reach an altitude of 13.7 km. The combat vehicle is designed to protect airspace, conduct reconnaissance, support ground forces, and train military pilots.
