Maripov and Lee Won-jae noted the existing potential for expanding trade and economic relations between the countries.
On July 29, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Ulukbek Maripov held a meeting with Ambassador of South Korea to the Kyrgyz Republic Lee Won-jae. The parties noted the existing potential and prospects for promoting trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. Maripov welcomed the decision of Korea Telecom to implement projects in Kyrgyzstan, the press office of the Government of Kyrgyzstan reported to CentralAsia.news.
The Kyrgyz side noted that representatives of Korea’s business circles began to visit the Republic more actively and show interest in investing in Kyrgyz economy. In this regard, the Prime Minister assured that the authorities of Kyrgyzstan would provide every assistance to Korean businesses.
Maripov requested that the Korean side increase the number of university quotas for Kyrgyz citizens at the major institutions of higher education in South Korea.
The diplomat highlighted the importance of promoting Kyrgyzstan-Korea trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
The interlocutors discussed the establishment of air transport services between Kyrgyzstan and Korea.
