Kazakhstan sets record – daily cases exceed 7,400

According to statistics, the record for daily cases was 554 people.

Kazakhstan set a record for coronavirus cases in 24 hours. On July 28, 7,479 citizens were tested positive for coronavirus, the Coronavirus 2020 special information source reported.

554 people less were infected over the past 24 hours. Nur-Sultan, Almaty and Karaganda Region are the leaders in this progressing negative statistics.

Speaking at an emergency meeting on July 19, President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev focused on an alarming increase in coronavirus cases. 5,000 cases were reported per day one and a half weeks ago. The President said the mass vaccination was the main remedy to the spread of the coronavirus. The President criticized the officials and heads of regional administration for being ‘slow’ in conducting vaccination at that meeting.

Speaking at a briefing of the Central Communications Service (CCS), Minister of Health Aleksey Tsoi said the plant in Zhambyl Region that produces the Kazakh vaccine ‘had spread its wings’. 100,000 doses of the CazVac vaccine have been distributed among the regions. Another 600,000 doses were going through rigorous testing processes and would be supplied to the destinations in August, the Minister said.
