In the first 6 months of the year, the average salary of citizens of Tajikistan increased by 9% and made up 1,492.5 somoni (over US$ 131). This information was obtained from the survey of the Ministry of Labour, Migration and Employment of the Republic of Tajikistan, the press office of the Ministry reported on July 28.
An increase was recorded in comparison with similar indicators of the past year. The Ministry reported that the average salary in the capital of Tajikistan was 2,205.4 somoni (over US$ 194). These figures are lower in the regions.
The average salary was 1,371.4 somoni (almost US$ 121) in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, 1,351.9 somoni (US$ 119) in Sughd Region and 1,140.4 somoni (over US$ 100) in Khatlon Region.
According to Ministry, employees of foreign companies and representative offices had the highest salaries. This figure reaches 10,780.2 somoni (US$ 948.5). Health care and agricultural workers had the lowest salaries.
