Challenging mission of German Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan

According to the diplomat, the countries are able to expand significantly bilateral cooperation in various fields.

On July 27, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany Monika Iversen, who was completing her mission in the country. The German diplomat said her mission in the Republic was interesting, but challenging, including due to the coronavirus pandemic, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reported to CentralAsia.news.

Iversen noted that she had always felt support from the State over the years of her work in Kyrgyzstan.

The diplomat said Germany and Kyrgyzstan had been partners since the Republic gained independence. The countries will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year.

According to the diplomat, today bilateral cooperation in various fields had a profound potential to develop, and special attention should be paid to climate and environmental issues.

Noting that Germany was one of the crucial partners of Kyrgyzstan in Europe, Japarov expressed the willingness of the Kyrgyz side to enhance further bilateral cooperation.
