Afghanistan thanks Tajikistan for support

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan expressed gratitude to the authorities of Tajikistan for providing support in especially difficult circumstances. This statement was made in response to the speech of the leader of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon during his meeting with the military servants, the press office of the IRA Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported to CentralAsia.news on July 25.

The diplomatic officials noted that Rahmon had expressed hope that peace and stability would be restored in Afghanistan. It was emphasised that the leaders of the IRA had helped to achieve peace in Tajikistan against the backdrop of clashes on the Tajik-Afghan border.

The Ministry officials noted that the Government of Afghanistan expresses gratitude to Dushanbe for its goodwill and continued support in especially difficult circumstances. They added that Kabul was urging to strengthen the fight against terrorism and extremism, which posed a threat to the region and the world.

As was reported, on July 22, Tajikistan conducted military exercises. Rahmon said there was no military solution to the Afghan problem had, and the situation should be settled exclusively by peaceful means.
