Requirements for family gatherings changed in Uzbekistan

The Government planned to introduce changes on August 1, but they came into effect on July 20 due to the worsening coronavirus situation.

In Uzbekistan, new restrictions on the number of guests that can attend wedding ceremonies and other family gatherings came into effect on July 20 due to the sharp deterioration of the pandemic situation in the Republic. The authorities planned to introduce changes on August 1, but they came into effect earlier due to the worsening coronavirus situation, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.

When wedding ceremonies or other family events are held indoors, the number of guests cannot exceed 50, while all of them must be from among close relatives and family members who live in the same area.

When such events are held outdoors, the number of guests cannot exceed 100. This restriction has been in effect since April this year.

The authorities are taking all the necessary measures to ensure speedy recovery of coronavirus patients and prevent the spread of the coronavirus in the country.
