Prime Minister of Kazakhstan urges to speed up forage production

Mamin focused on intensifying the seasonal activities up to maximum and accelerating interregional efforts in the haymaking campaign.

On July 19, Chairman of the Government of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin held a working meeting with the heads of the government agencies and executive bodies on the intensification of forage production, the press office of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.

It was noted that the Food Contract Corporation JSC had financed the purchase of 200,000 tonnes of 4th-5th grade barley and wheat. The Prime Minister said the President of Kazakhstan had instructed that prompt measures be taken to provide local farmers with forage in the dry weather season.

Mamin focused on intensifying the seasonal activities up to maximum and accelerating interregional efforts in the haymaking campaign. He instructed that the sale of forage to the population at an affordable price be taken under special control.

With the aim to fulfil these tasks, the Chairman of the Government said agricultural producers and animal feed manufacturers should conclude agreements. The Minister of Rail Transport was tasked to set an optimal tariff for the transportation of forage to remote areas.
