Kyrgyzstan keeps electricity tariffs flat

The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers discussed the preparations for the 2021- 2022 heating autumn-winter period.

On July 16, Chairman of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic Ulukbek Maripov chaired a meeting of the Republican Task Force on the preparation of  the economic sectors and the population for the 2021-2022 autumn-winter heating season. The Prime Ministers noted that President Sadyr Japarov had taken into account the opinions of citizens and decided not to increase electricity tariffs, the press office of the Government of Kyrgyzstan reports.

Discussing the preparations for the 2021-2022 heating autumn-winter period and the preparedness of social facilities and the power industry, the participants paid particular attention to providing the people of the country with solid fuels.

The heads of the energy departments reported that all planned work and activities at energy facilities would be done before the heating season began.

Maripov emphasised that special attention should be paid to the preparedness of social facilities, including schools, kindergartens and hospitals, and all necessary measures should be taken before the heating season began.
