Mirziyoyev instructs to speed up digital transformation in Uzbekistan

The range of public services provided through a mobile application to 100 needs to be extended.

On July 13, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the progress of comprehensive digital transformation at the institutions throughout the country. The leader of Uzbekistan instructed to speed up digital transformation and highlighted the importance of extending the range of public services provided through a mobile application to 100, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.

In the last 6 months of the year, services in the digital economy totalled 7.2 trillion soums, and the exports of computer programming services totalled US$ 17.5 million. Given the above, the emphasis was placed on the existing opportunities to increase services in the digital economy up to 16 trillion soums, and the exports of computer programming services – up to US$ 40 million.

Digital transformations were slow in some regions and economic sectors. According to statistical data, this process has not been done properly at 65 organisations and in 116 districts and cities.

“The work done over the past years in this industry has yielded good results, and services have become more convenient and affordable. Digital technologies are changing every day, and new opportunities are opening up. It is therefore important to develop a ‘roadmap’ to introduce new software products at every department, government agency and region,” the President said.
