Dushanbe intends to build up bilateral partnerships with Bishkek

The President of Kyrgyzstan noted that the parties should make sure that armed conflicts never happened again.

On June 29, the leader of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov arrived in Dushanbe for an official visit at the invitation of his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon. After an official greeting ceremony at the Palace of the Nation had concluded, bilateral talks took place, during which the leaders of the two countries discussed key aspects of bilateral cooperation and the recent border conflict, the press office of the leader of Kyrgyzstan reported.

In his welcoming speech, Rahmon highly evaluated the visit of his Kyrgyz counterpart to Tajikistan and noted that he was interested in expanding bilateral partnerships.

Japarov expressed gratitude to the President for the invitation to pay an official visit to Tajikistan.

The leader of Kyrgyzstan noted with regret that the tragic events of April 28-30 this year became the days of difficult historical trials and sorrow for the peoples of the two countries.

In this regard, he emphasised that the parties should make sure that armed conflicts never happened again. 

Japarov expressed belief that the parties would be able to find ways to resolve border problems through joint efforts.
