Mayor of the capital of Tajikistan Rustam Emomali and Asian Cycling Confederation President Osama Al Shafar agreed on this.
The capital of the Republic of Tajikistan will host the Asian Cycling Championships next spring. This decision was adopted during a meeting between Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali and Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC) President Osama Al Shafar on June 18, the press office of the city administration reported.
The initiative to hold this event in the Central Asian country was put forward by the Chairman of the capital of Tajikistan. He also proposed to hold an international tournament Tour de Tajikistan in Dushanbe in September this year to honour the 30th anniversary of independence of Tajikistan. Osama Al Shafar supported his proposal.
The interlocutors emphasised that this kind of events aimed to present the economic, social and cultural achievements and amazing nature of Tajikistan to foreign visitors and develop regional tourist routes.
Rustam Emomali instructed that the government agencies jointly with the Cycling Federation of the Republic of Tajikistan set up the organising committee.
