Office of Government Accelerator opens in Uzbekistan

The main aim of the project is to solve social and economic problems promptly and effectively by the resources of government agencies.

On June 15, the opening ceremony of the Office of the Government Accelerator took place in the capital of the country. Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov and representatives of the UAE attended the ceremony. The main aim of the project is to solve social and economic problems promptly and effectively by the resources of government agencies and businesses. Every 100 days, Accelerator teams work with state institutions, private sector actors and other stakeholders towards designing and implementing specific solutions, the press office of the Ministry reported to CentralAsia.news.

The Government Accelerator managers reported on the outcomes of the first 100-day cycle, during which the work had proceeded in four areas: facilitation of the issuance of building permits, promotion of family businesses, development of city master plans and creation of a unified utility billing system.

The presentations in the major areas of project activities within the new 100-day cycle: assessment of residents’ satisfaction with public services, compilation of statistics in Uzbekistan’s power sector in line with the UN standards and introduction of a business rating review system were made.

In general, the programme that focuses on improving public sector efficiency, implemented with the assistance of the authorities of the UAE, covers 25 areas, including the development of the national development strategy, enhancement of public services, improvement of Uzbekistan’s ease of doing business ranking, tax and customs administration and free economic zone management and implementation of innovations, among others.
