Tajikistan and Uzbekistan sign agreements worth US$ 730 million

A number of documents aim to create joint ventures that will produce cars and household appliances and process agricultural products.

On June 9, the first Tajikistan-Uzbekistan interregional investment forum was held in the administrative centre of Khatlon Region of Tajikistan in preparation for the forthcoming visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Dushanbe. The forum ended with signing the agreements worth $ 730 million, the press office of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan reports.

The Chairmen of the Export Development Agency of Tajikistan and the Export Promotion Agency of Uzbekistan signed a cooperation agreement. Businessmen of the two countries signed an agreement on the creation of joint ventures that would produce cars, transformers and household appliances.

A number of documents are concerned with the creation of gardens and greenhouse complexes. The entrepreneurs signed the agreements on the establishment of economic entities that would grow and process agricultural products, in particular vegetables.

First Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan Davlatali Said and Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov said the Tajikistan-Uzbekistan Investment Fund with the authorized capital of US$ 50 million would be created to support promising projects.
