Prime Minister of Kazakhstan promises to get 10 million people vaccinated by September

2 million people in the regions of the country will be vaccinated per month from April.

On April 13, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev held a meeting with Prime Minister Askar Mamin. The Prime Minister reported on the social and economic development in January-March and the current epidemic situation in the country, the press office of the President of Kazakhstan reported.

The Prime Minister said the steady and positive dynamics was observed in the real sector of Kazakh economy in January-March this year.

The Prime Minister reported on the ongoing complex measures to slow the spread of coronavirus and achieve herd immunity. Mamin assured the President that the vaccination campaign would ramp up this month. 2 million people throughout the country will be vaccinated per month. Therefore, 10 million people were to be vaccinated against COVID-19 by September, the Prime Minister said.

The progress in implementing a number of state programmes, the key priorities of Kazakhstan’s presidency in the EAEU and the work done by the specialised organisations to attract investments were discussed during the meeting. The ongoing measures to provide employment opportunities, stabilise prices for essential goods and adopt digital approaches in the economy and government agencies were reviewed.
